Sights
The local beaches are Little Pebble & Big Pebble Beaches.
Others can be found at Limanara, a short boat trip away,
Kaputas on the road to Kalkan and Patara beyond Kalkan.

Big Pebble Beach

Patara Beach
Kaputas Beach
About 20 / 30 minutes away, on the road to Kalkan,
lies Kaputas Beach with it’s white sand and glorious turquoise water. A long series
of steps leads down to Kaputas beach, where there is no shade by mid-day, so only the very energetic and hardy will be tempted to do more than just take
‘photos at the top!
Peninsula Beach
There are 2 small pebble
beaches within 5 minutes drive (car/bus) of the
Villas.

The hotel Aquapark is a 5
minute walk from the Villas and offers pool and
slide for approximately 100 Turkish Lira.

Paragliding from Mountains behind Kas

Black Cedar trees in the Mountains
River Canoeing at Patara and Sea Kayaking in
Kekova with it’s sunken city are very popular.

For the less active, a lazy
day at sea or a night cruise
on a Gulet might be more
appealing.
Meis
Island
A 40 minute boat trip will take you to the Greek Island of Meis
(Castellorizo in Greek). This is the nearest Greek Island to
Turkey and is worth a trip to see the difference in the 2 cultures.

Meis Island
Going Westwards
About 90 minutes drive away is Saklikent
Gorge. This spectacular Gorge is one of the
longest in the World. Ice cold water pours down
the mountains in torrents and, for those brave
enough, a swim will be more than just a little
refreshing! Both here and at Yaka Park near Tlos
(about ½ hour further on) platforms have been
built over the rushing streams. Here you can
relax with a cool drink or eat some of the trout
for which this area is also renowned.
Apart from the Lycian Rock Tombs at Dalyan,
there are breeding turtles and mud baths near by.
Throughout this part of Turkey there are
numerous restaurants set on rivers where you can
enjoy not only a trout meal or a wonderfully
fresh salad, but also enjoy a refreshing swim in
the river.
Both to the West and the East, there are many
reminders of Turkey’s Ottoman past.

Elmali
Heading East places worth visiting are:
Myra ~ The home of St Nicholas who we know as
Santa Claus.
Olympos ~ Beyond Finike, where there is a
wonderful Beach and Roman & Lycian Ruins.

Olympos
And if you are still ambitious, head on
towards Khimaira where flames burn constantly
from the rocks due to the presence of sulpher
gases.
Inland and North East
Gombe ~Has a lake known as the Green Lake
and a waterfall. The mountains nearby are just
under 10,000 ft / 3,000 mts high.

Big Pebble Beach
Big Pebble Beach (Buyuk Cakil Plaja) is, by definition, a
pebble beach. Sunbeds and parasols are available for hire
from a number of excellent beach cafés. Relaxing here is not
very difficult; playing backgammon, lazing in the sun or
possibly even swimming and diving. |
Patara Beach
If a sandy beach is preferred, within easy reach, Patara, with it’s 11 mile long white sand beach
is a must. The presence of rare breeding turtles and a vast Roman & Lycian archaeological site behind the beach
has resulted in Patara Beach being
made into a National Park.
Consequently, apart from a well laid
out bar/restaurant at the Eastern
end, and a bar at the Western end
there is not a single building to be
seen for 11 miles. Parasols and sun beds are available for hire at both ends of this beach.

Activities
There is plenty to do if you are particularly active.
Paragliding from the mountains behind Kas will provide
breathtaking views over the harbour and surrounding area.
The coastline all around Kas provides a paradise for both novices and experienced divers. Lessons and diving trips by boat can be booked from several places in the harbour
